Day 15: The Day Before

Events are nearing their end as the second-last day of the 2022 Beijing Winter Games has concluded.
Canada picks up one more medal as they head into the final day of action.
Ivanie Blondin wins her second medal of the Olympic Games. After winning gold in the Team Pursuit, she adds a silver medal, placing second in the Mass Start. It came down to a sprint between Blondin and Irene Schouten of the Netherlands, who just edged her out in the final strides.
Valérie Maltais placed sixth in the race, while on the men's side, Jordan Belchos finishes in 13th and Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu finishes in 15th.
Canada now has four gold, eight silver and 13 bronze for a total of 25 medals.
In the final of the Men’s Ski Halfpipe, Three Canadians entered and none could come up with a medal. Simon d’Artois could not complete his first two runs. On his third he earns a 63.75, placing him in 10th. Brendan Mackay went into his last attempt with a 65.50. However, after a stellar showing, he falls on his final jump, resulting in a ninth place finish.
Noah Bowman was the top Canadian throughout the final. He successfully completed his first two attempts. Halfway through the third run, he can’t stick the landing. He finishes in fourth with the 84.75 from his second run.
After the first two runs of the 4-Man Bobsleigh, the top Canadian sled, piloted by Justin Kripps sits in third 0.38 second behind the leader. They are currently in-between the German pilots who are first, second and fourth and who swept the podium in the 2-Man Event.
The other two Canadian sleds, piloted by Chris Spring and Taylor Austin are 11th and 21th.
In 2-Woman Bobsleigh, Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski, were fourth through their first three runs. After their fourth and final run, they fell to fifth place, 2.41 seconds back of the leader. Cynthia Appiah and Dawn Richardson Wilson finish 8th by 3.56 seconds and Melissa Lotholz and Sara Villani place 12th, 4.41 seconds behind.
Finally, in Pairs Figure Skating, Kirsten Moore Towers and Michael Marinaro finish score of 181.37 placing them in 10th place. The other Canadian duo, Vanessa James and Eric Radford, place 12th with a score of 280.99.
Day 16:
4-man Bobsleigh concludes with Justin Kripps challenging for the podium in the final two runs
Postponed from Day 15 due to high winds, the Alpine Mixed Parallel Team Event is scheduled to be completed on the final day of the Games.
After over two and a half weeks of competition, it’s time for the closing ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
