On Day 6 of the Olympic Games, Team Canada had a successful day winning a total of four medals. The two silver and two bronze, bring Canada’s medal count to 12.

The day started off with two young Canadians in the Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe Final, where 20-year-old Elizabeth Hosking finished sixth, while 16-year-old Brooke D’Hondt finished 10th.

Keegan Messing is the feel good story so far among Canadians at the Olympics. After testing and travel issues kept him out of the team event, the Figure Skater was able to make it to Beijing just in time for the Men’s Individual Event, where he placed 11th.

James Crawford (or Jack as he is more commonly known as) won Canada’s first medal of the day in the Alpine Combined.

As for his teammates:

Broderick Thompson finished eighth, Brodie Seger in ninth and Trevor Philp did not finish.

Not long after, 20-year old Eliot Grondin wins silver in the Men’s Snowboard Cross.

In the inaugural Aerials Mixed Team Event, Canada, in a shortened field of six countries, came out with a bronze medal.

Isabelle Weidemann, already with a bronze medal earlier in the games, adds a silver to her collection.

In Curling, Team Canada is undefeated on the men’s and women’s side. The men are 2-0 after a 6-5 win over Norway and the women won their first match 12-7 over South Korea.

After winning bronze in 2018, the Men’s Hockey Team played their first game against the defending silver medalists Germany, who defeated Canada in the semifinals. Canada won this time around by a score of 5-1.

Day 7 will have a mix of qualification and medal events.

Canada’s Current Medal Table:

One Gold

Four Silver

Seven Bronze
